Sure, they got plenty of specifics wrong. No flying cars, no moon colonies, no personal jetpacks. But they absolutely nailed the psychological and social patterns of how humans adapt to technological change. And maybe that’s what I love most about this genre – it’s not about predicting the exact shape of the future, it’s about expanding our sense of what’s possible and helping us think through implications before they show up demanding immediate decisions we’re not prepared to make.
